WebThe Croydon Road Recreation Ground (Rec) is a very popular community facility at the heart of Beckenham. It has gained international fame for Beckenham as a result of its association with the grade 2 listed unique bandstand, which was at the centre of a free music festival organised by local resident David Bowie in 1969.
